Mobile · pre-production.
In 2024 I spent a couple of months at Magic DAYW, a Los Angeles mobile startup, as Narrative Designer on an early concept. The only brief was a narrative crime drama with life-sim elements; the tone and the world were mine to build. I aimed somewhere between Heat, Robocop and GTA.
I built the prototype in Twine, as a proof of concept for the writing model. The question was whether a heavily branching crime story could carry the game. Choices carried forward and changed what came later, steering the player toward one of several endings. A decision made in the first hour could close doors in the last.
It went no further. The concept stayed in pre-production, and the game was never announced or released. You can play through my concept from start to finish here.
